چکیده

The aim of this study was to investigate the potential application metal foams in shell-tube recuperators. A356 aluminium foam cast around internal and external surfaces a thin-walled copper tube enhance heat transfer between separated water streams at different temperatures. results demonstrated that drastically increased efficiency due its large volumetric surface area high thermal conductivity. In recuperators, maximum 48.1% observed, compared only 12.2% for single without foam. pressure drop across with flow rate, from an average value 1.19 kPa 1.0 L/min 7.36 3.0 L/min. These findings suggest have great use which could significantly improve various industrial engineering applications.
